Just in case anyone asks what Federal employees think about Trump's wall...They have to express themselves with caution so as to abide by the rules of the Hatch Act. Because of this, many choose not to say anything at all. However, my daughter (who works for the government and is on furlough right now and is not working or being paid until Trump gets over himself) told me that I can say whatever I wish without it getting her in trouble. So here goes...
This entire family does not support the wall being built! We do not think it is a good use of tax money when there are other methods to control immigration that have been proven to work better. We believe what science tells us about how a wall will disrupt livestock and wildlife grazing areas and will make those animals suffer. We do not believe in forcing people to go without water or food in order to get into the country to request asylum while ICE bottlenecks the process at the boarder crossings. We do not agree with splitting up families, allowing children to die of dehydration, or dumping groups of families with small children off at bus stations without food, money for travel, or any resources on Christmas eve.
We also don't believe in withholding the pay of so many employees of the government (holding their pay "hostage") so you can force people to agree to a really crappy idea. Do not use my daughter to get your wall built, Mr. Trump. Do not "speak" for her and tell everyone that she agrees to your extortion scheme because she is more likely to stay quiet while you do. I have the right to say whatever I want and I will!
